Changes in the Board of JSC “Conexus Baltic Grid” have taken place
Changes have taken place in the Board of the unified natural gas and transmission system operator JSC “Conexus Baltic Grid” (hereinafter – Conexus), as the former Chairperson of the Board, Zane Kotāne, has left her post from June 27, accepting other professional challenges. Jānis Eisaks, the former Head of Corporate Strategy, has been appointed Chairman of the Board.
Jānis Eisaks is a professional in his field with more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry. At the beginning of his career, Eisaks has worked in a team of experts of the European Union's support program PHARE, carrying out various tasks in the implementation of the program in the energy sector in Latvia. Jānis Eisaks has been the Head of the Gas Division of Energy Department of the Public Utilities Commission (Regulator) for more than 13 years, while in 2016 he became the Head of the Strategic Development at JSC “Latvijas Gāze” and was responsible for the reorganization process of the company and the creation of a gas market model in preparation for opening the gas market of Latvia.
Since 2017, when the reorganization of “Latvijas Gāze” led to the establishment of JSC “Conexus Baltic Grid”, Jānis Eisaks holds the position of Head of Corporate Strategy at Conexus, and his duties include such tasks as promoting the integration of the Baltic gas market, European Union issues and the representation of Conexus in the relevant institutions, implementation and monitoring of the corporate management system, introduction of innovations etc.
J. Eisaks starts working as the Chairman of the Board on 27 June and it is planned that he will hold this position until a new Chairman of the Board is appointed.
