NATURAL GAS QUALITY PARAMETERS
Gas quality is measured according to the International Organization for Standardization standard ISO 6976 “Natural gas – Calculation of calorific values, density, relative density and Wobbe index from composition”
STANDARD CONDITIONS
From 3rd of April 2017, according to the provisions of the Cabinet of Ministers 7 February 2017, No 78 “Trade and Use of Natural Gas” and Regulation (EC) No 715/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 on conditions for access to the natural gas transmission networks, JSC “Conexus Baltic Grid”:
- provides technical metering of natural gas transmission and storage systems at standard conditions 0 °C temperature and 1.01325 bar (a). With respect to gross calorific value, energy and Wobbe index, the default combustion reference temperature by default is 25°C;
- provides natural gas transmission and storage systems metering for user accounting needs in energy units - kilowatt-hours (kWh) and shall be stated by multiplying cubic meters under standard conditions by the gross calorific value in kWh/m3.
