Public consultation on the Kiemenai interconnection point capacity bundling
Latvian natural gas transmission system operator JSC "Conexus Baltic Grid" is launching public consultation on the amendments to the Common Regulations for the Use of Natural Gas Transmission System (further – Amendments). The aim of the public consultation is to inform the public about the planned changes in the capacity bundling of the Kiemenai interconnection point (further – Kiemenai) and to obtain the views of stakeholders on the prepared draft Amendments.
In the current natural gas market situation caused by geopolitical circumstances, natural gas transmission system operators must carry out activities that ensure stable and safe flow of natural gas in the region. JSC "Conexus Baltic Grid" has agreed with the Lithuanian transmission system operator AB Amber Grid on the principles and procedure for implementing the transmission system capacity bundling for Kiemenai. Kiemenai capacity bundling will enable transmission system users to book transmission capacities in one place – the Common Zone Platform, which is jointly managed by JSC Conexus Baltic Grid and AS Elering. The introduction of the bundled capacity principle will ensure a simplified and transparent use of the interconnection point for Kiemenai, while improving the capacity calculation process and reducing the administrative burden for system users.
Please submit your proposals and comments on the draft Amendments (in English) till 24.07.2022 by sending them (electronically) to the e-mail address - [email protected].
The amendments to the Common Regulations for the Use of Natural Gas Transmission System are intended to enter into force 30 days after coordinated decision by the Public Utilities Commission of Latvia and Estonian Competition Authority. Until the date of entry into force of the draft Amendments, current version of the Common Regulations for the Use of Natural Gas Transmission System shall apply.
