Announcement a non-binding market demand assessment for incremental capacity
JSC "Conexus Baltic Grid" announces non-binding market demand assessment for incremental capacity. Current and potential network users can submit their non-binding demand indications for incremental capacity at interconnection point with Lithuania. Such information should be submitted within 8 weeks starting from 5th July 2021.
Incremental process is introduced in Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/459 of 16 March 2017 establishing a network code on capacity allocation mechanisms in gas transmission systems and repealing Regulation (EU) No 984/2013. The incremental process foresees several phases including certain requirements that need to be fulfilled, before an incremental project can be initiated and new capacity be built. The incremental process starts with the demand assessment phase that begins with the market demand assessment by the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) after annual gas capacity auctions start on booking platforms.
This year, the incremental process begins in July. At the beginning of this phase network users can submit non-binding demand indications within 8 weeks after the start of the incremental process.
Network users can also submit their non-binding demand indications after this deadline. In this case the TSO can decide, if the indication can be included in the ongoing demand assessment or if it will be used in the next assessment.
