Conexus sets procedure for return of storage Capacity

Conexus Baltic Grid AS (hereinafter - Conexus) has set a procedure for system users who have already booked the capacity of the Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage (hereinafter - UGS) for the 2022/2023 storage cycle until March 9, 2022 to return booked capacity. The capacity return procedure developed by Conexus can be found here.

In addition to the capacity return procedure, Conexus plans to establish capacity allocation procedure for the natural gas transmission system capacity and the Inčukalns UGS injection, which ensures the injection of gas transported from the Klaipeda LNG terminal and the Lithuanian-Polish natural gas interconnector into the Inčukalns UGS.

These obligations were imposed on Conexus by the decision of March 8, 2022 Cabinet of Ministers, which provides the declaration of an early warning level in the natural gas supply sector.

Within framework of Inčukalns UGS congestion management, flows from the Klaipeda LNG terminal (and the future Lithuanian-Polish natural gas interconnector) will be prioritised in addition to the Inčukalns UGS congestion management procedure already established under point 58.2 of the Inčukalns UGS Terms of Use. It will apply to all system users who have concluded a storage service contract for the use of the Inčukalns UGS. The clarified Inčukalns UGS congestion management conditions and the starting time of their application will be published in the near future, after the development of the algorithm and the coordination of the conditions with other transmission system operators.
